朱熹好琴,精于乐律,著有不少谈论音乐的文章,其提倡雅乐的思想具有崇古性,其提出创办音乐学校、培养精通音乐的专门人才的思想又具有创新性。
Zhu Xi, a great thinker and educator in ancient China, was fond of playing musical instrument and was knowledgeable in the field of music and rhythm. His idea of promoting graceful music indicated his admiration for the ancient, while his idea of establishing music school and fostering music professionals showed his innovation.
