摘要
通过对11位现代经典作家的14篇散文中“着”字的英译进行穷尽性研究,可以得出以下结论:在翻译过程中,“着”在英译文中很少承担了决定时态的作用,但当“着”字被翻译成分词或介词形式的时候,所表示的都是一种状态,这一点或多或少与汉语中“着”的功能还是有相似之处的。
This paper adopts a Chinese-English contrastive method for a study of translation. Tc examine whether the tense in Chinese has effect on the English translation, it selects 14 essays from ll most influential Chinese writers and makes an exhaustive study of all the words of ＂zhe ＂ which appear in them and their＇various expressioas in Eaglish translations. This paper also makes a few suggestions concerning a method of translating.
