即时通信是中国电信不能放弃的市场。建立一套即时通信产品体系框架,允许应用服务提供商按统一的标准开发即时通信软件,共同拓展市场,是一个比自己开发软件,从零开始发展业务更好的选择。电信公司既要与应用服务提供商共创共赢,也要注意通过控制用户保持自己对价值链的主导地位。
The emerging Instant Messaging market can not be ignored by China Telecom. In comparison with developing software and exploring market by itself, it could be a better choice for China Telecom to build a product framework and work together with the Application Service Providers (ASPs) who develop software following unified standard. The operator should establish win-win cooperation with ASPs while taking a leading role in the industry value chain by taking a close control on the customer base.
