“蟂矶传说”考析

A Textual Research & Analysis of "Xiao Ji Legend"

所谓蟂矶传说,是指孙夫人为刘备自杀于蟂矶的故事。此事不见史书记载,杜撰系数高。明成化间,官方通过立庙对传说予以确认。此传说获得官方认同并形成广泛影响,离不开罗贯中对孙夫人形象的再创造,民间关于孙夫人投江而死的说法及"蟂矶"与"枭姬"音同,也为蟂矶传说的产生提供了一系列的依据。

The Xiao Ji Legend tells us a story about Mrs. Sun＇s suicide for Liu Bei at Xiaoji. However, it might be a coinage since there is no trace of such in historical records. In fact, this legend was popular due to several elements： the official construction of a temple for Mrs. Sun in the Chenghua regime of the Ming Dynasty; rebuilding of Mrs. Sun＇ s image by Luo Guanzhong; the common saying that Mrs. Sun jumped into the river and died; the place name Xiaoji and Mrs. Sun＇s stage name Xiao Ji （female singer） sound the same.
