翻译的本意——《枫桥夜泊》的五种汉学家译文研究

The Intention of Translation:Towards the Five English Versions of Feng-Qiao-Ye-Bo

《枫桥夜泊》是唐代诗人张继的一首传世七绝。在汉学家们的译笔下它获得了本雅明所说的"来世"。对于已经被"陌生化"的这首诗作的重新阅读无疑可以让中国读者从另一个视角品味本土语言和文化的独特魅力。而对于目标语文化背景中的译者们而言,译诗的过程同时也是他们认识和了解源语文化的一种绝佳的手段。因此,目标文化和源语文化间有序的互动应该就是翻译的本意。

Feng - Qiao - Ye - Bo, an often - anthologized quatrain poem by the Tang poet Zhang Ji, has won Walter Benjamin＇ s ＂afterlife＂ while translated by sinologist translators for the Westerners. The rerea- ding of this defamiliarized poem undoubtedly will deepen our understanding of the source culture, and the process of translating provides a good way for translators to get to know the source culture better in the meantime. This sort of orderly interaction between the source culture and target culture is surely the real intention of translation.
