The research results of the indexes to divide “three zones' of potential spontaneous combustion area in gobs revealed that the present used indexes such as leakage velocity and oxygen concentration exhibited some limitations in practical application,and the temperature rise rates at multiple points can be used to correctly divide the 'three zones' in gobs.
