衔接和连贯是功能语言学的两个重要的术语。Halliday和Hasan对衔接和连贯所做的研究具有开拓意义。随后语言学者对其作了进一步的研究。在对衔接和连贯的研究中,笔者发现,衔接对语篇理解有重要的影响,但是其运用尚未普及。最后本文结合实例,证明和肯定了掌握衔接和连贯的关系对理解语篇的重要作用。

Cohesion and coherence are two important terms in functional linguistics. The paper tries to prove, with practical examples, the significance of mastering the relation between cohesion and coherence in textual understanding.
