The 2,404 enterprises in the eight sectors of China's machine tool industry generated a total industrial output value amounting to RMB 165.611 billion in 2006, an increase of 27.1%, and 2.3 percentage points higher than the growth of the previous year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Their total sales topped RMB 158.613 billion, jumping 26.4%; and the total profits, RMB 9,350.59 million, up 32.4%.
