Moby- Dick is a＂bright pearl＂in the literary treasury of the world,which is written by Herman MelviUe, a famous novelist during the romantic period. This novel contains various themes which have a great influence on the young generation. My thesis starts mainly from Ahab＇s desire for revenge and its purpose is to exploit the profound theme,i.e.the relationship between man and nature,man and society,man and man. This novel also shows its acute insight into reality the importance of harmony.
