黑泽明编导和拍摄的《乱》,是对莎士比亚《李尔王》的一次成功地移植和改编,黑泽明移植了莎剧的情节,但又依据东方民族的审美习惯对其作了改编。他变换了作品中人物的性别,增加了日本武士道特点和东方的佛教色彩,融入了日本的传统艺术,使改编后的《李尔王》——《乱》,不仅适合日本民族的阅读心理,也反映了日本时代社会的特征。

Ran was a successful play that has been adapted, directed and screened by Akira Kurosawa. Akira Kurosawa has transplanted the details of Shakespeare＇s King Lea, but adapted it to identify the eastern aesthetic sense. He changed the sex of figures in this play, merged the Japanese national characteristics and the religion Buddhism. It made Ran not only be in keeping with Japanese value of appreciation, also reflecting the social characteristics then and there.
