The implementation process of resettling the first groups of relocatees from the Three Gorges reservoir area,experiences in it,and principles and procedures that should be followed in selecting,constructing and comprehensively developing the resettlement zones are presented in this paper. The importance of enhancing unified leadership, constituting and implementing appropriate preferential policies in helping relocatees to rebuild their hometowns or villages, restore and develop production is expounded.
