本杰明的透明翻译观

On Walter Benjamin's Transparent Translation

近年来,随着翻译的文化动因和效果的研究日渐深入,翻译的透明性成为译界耳熟能详的术语。然而,透明翻译的流行,并非建立在透彻了解该概念的基础上。许多学者在不加区分地批判透明翻译观的同时,忽略本杰明透明翻译观的价值;而本杰明透明翻译观作为其翻译理论的核心,影响到德里达等学者对于透明翻译的批判性研究。本文从该透明翻译观的合理内核、本杰明与德里达透明翻译观的继承、本杰明透明翻译观的反思等方面展开论述,力求澄清本杰明透明翻译的性质、研究历史和现状。

As more and more in-depth researches on cultural motifs and ends of a translation are carried out, transparency of translation is well known in translation studies. Nevertheless, the popularity of transparency is not based on thoroughgoing studies. When indiscriminately criticizing any transparent translation, many translation scholars have neglected the value of Walter Benjamin＇ s transparent translation studies. As the core of Benjamin＇ s translation theories, transparency has greatly influenced Derrida＇ s criticalanalysis of transparent translation. Nevertheless, it is a pity that though Benjamin＇ s transparent studies have been proposed for dozens of years, little attention has been given to it. Correspondingly, this paper tends to analyze the integrity of Benjamin＇ s transparent translation, the theoretical association of Benjamin＇ s and Derrida＇ s transparent translation studies, the imperfections of Benjamin＇ s transparent translation so as to correct somewhat undue criticisms of transparency in translation and clarify the features of and researches on Benjamin＇ s transparent translation.
