Growth/Differentiation Factor-5 and Skeletal Development

摘要 生长分化因子属于骨形态发生蛋白信号分子高度保守的亚家族,对骨骼的发育具有至关重要的作用。近年报道表明:生长分化因子-5(growth/differentiation factor-5,GDF-5)的羧端区域与GDF-6和-7高度同源。GDF-5在治疗肌腱或韧带修复,椎间盘退变修复,软骨修复,骨折愈合等方面具有潜在应用价值。 The growth/differentiation factors (GDFs) are a subfamily of the highly conserved group of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling molecules known to play a variety of roles in the skeletal system. It was recently found that GDF-5 was highly homologous in the C-terminal signaling regions of GDF-6 and GDF-7. GDF-5 may have potential to be used in the repair of tendon/liga- ment, degenerative intervertebral discs and cartilage repair and bone healing.
