Inflation repeated its August high in October, returning to 6.5% after lowering slightly to 6.2% in September. January to October the Consumer Price Index （CPI） rose 4.4%. The People＇s Bank of China （PBOC） in its Q3 report upgraded its year-end inflation expectations to 4.5%, which would necessitate inflation being under 5.1% for November and December.
