关于“之所以”

On Zhisuoyi(之所以)

本文认为古汉语"所以VP"不具有谓词性特征,其当属体词性结构;形成于"S+之+所以VP"的"之所以VP"(简记作"之所以")不置句首,而总是放在一定词语之后且用法同于不带"之"的"所以VP",其"之"为偏正结构中的助词。古汉语里的"之"还能以指示代词的身份修饰、限定"所以VP"结构,由此形成的"之所以VP"(简记作"之所以"),却是以名词性短语的形式作句子的主语而起领全句。来源与用法本不相同的"之所以"和"之所以",因形式上的相似引发了学界对"之所以"用法的争讼不休。

This paper discusses the problems put forward by Xiao Xiqiang and Wang Canlong in their paper'Lexicalization of Zhisuoyi (之所以)'.Through the discussion the paper holds that suoyi (所以)+VP structure in ancient Chinese is a non-predicative one.Zhisuoyi (之所以)+ VP (hereinafter referred to as zhisuoyi (之所以)derived from S+zhi (之)+ suoyi (所以)+ VP cannot be placed at the beginning of a sentence,but always after certain words or phrases,used like'suoyi (所以)+VP'.In zhisuoyi (之所以),zhi(之) is an auxiliary of an exocentric structure.While in ancient Chinese zhi(之) could also be used to modify suoyi (所以)+VP structure as a demonstrative pronoun,and hence'zhisuoyi(之所以),+VP'structure (hereinafter referred to zhisuoyi(之所以) took shape,which can act as the subject of a sentence.
