Influence in a booming era

1873年，刚刚成名的美国作家马克·吐温出版了他的第一部长篇小说《镀金时代》。这部用讽刺笔触描写当年资本主义自由竞争时代世情风貌的作品，意外地成为了那个时代的最好标签。从此，人们用这个词来形容从南北战争结束到20世纪初那半个世纪的美国历史——前所未有的繁荣，以及繁荣带来的混乱。

Five years ago,when China Entrepreneur launched the first list of 25 most influential business leaders,we were trying to find super stars in the business field and the outstanding representatives of entrepreneurship. But today,enterprise no longer belongs to the founder himself,but should be responsible for investors,employees,customers,government and community;and the responsibility of business leaders has gone beyond the business or geographic field and they actually stand for the benchmark of one society and the image of a big country. As a business magazine,China Entrepreneur advocates business heroes and appreciates their leadership,innovation,insights and influence on the specific industry.However,so-called business leaders are expected to meet higher demand:it is not enough to lead the company merely,and entrepreneur must show his social responsibility,internatinal influence and public impact,which are the key factors for the assessment. Wang Shi transformed himself in advance as the only one who got the Lifetime Achievement Honorary Award this time.In a sense,his positive influence beyond business deserves it.Compared to last year's list,eight business leaders all together have dropped out of this year's list.
