钟敬文先生民间文学的学术历程起始于客家山歌的调查与研究,是客家山歌的天籁之音激发了他对民间文学的浓厚兴趣。搜集、记录和研究客家山歌是他田野作业的最初尝试。尽管是初步尝试,这些成果却符合民间文学的学术规范,特点突出,达到很高的学术水准,具有引领现代民间文艺学学风的开拓与示范意义。

Mr. Zhong Jingwen＇s academic study of folk literature began in the investigation and research of Hakka folk songs. The sounds of nature ef Hakka folk songs attracted Mr. Zhong. Collecting, recording and studying Hakka folk songs were his primary attempt in the fieldwork. Despite primary, these results conformed with academic norms, were full of distinctive characteristics and reached high academic standards. Also, they have led modern folk literature study and played an important part in the significance of model.
