On September 26, 2007, Shan Jixiang, Director-General of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China and Qiu He, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province co-unveiled the new sign-board of the Office for the World Heritage Nomination of the Grand Canal in the city of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, which marked the Official launch of the campaign to include this hundreds-of-vears-old canal on the World Heritage list.
