摘要
从"洗"的本义入手,认为在长期的语言发展过程中,"洗"侵入"澡""沐""浴"的语义辖域获得了自身辖域拓展,从而形成了"洗手""洗头(发)""洗身"三种保留在现代汉语的表达形式。
The original meaning of 洗 （xi） was “to wash one＇s feet”. The semantic scope of the original meaning of 洗 expanded as a result of its invading 洗（zao, meant “to wash one＇s hands”）, 沐（mu, meant “to wash one＇s hair”）, and 浴（yu, meant “to wash one＇s body”）. That＇s why we have expressions like 洗手 （to wash one＇s hands）, 洗头发 （to wash one＇s hair） and 洗身（to wash one＇s body） in contemporary Chinese.
