A Modern Interpretation and Adaptation of Traditional Chinese Translation Theory

创造性地继承中国传统译论是中国当代译学建设的必然要求。继承传统译论不是对传统译论的原样照搬,而是要使传统译论真正融入中国当代译学的话语系统,这就必须对其进行一系列的现代阐释与现代转化。现代阐释是现代转化的基础,现代转化必须在对传统译论的实际运用中逐步进行。

To build contemporary Chinese translatology requires creatively inheriting traditional Chinese translation theory. To inherit does not mean simply to copy. Traditional translation theory must go through a series of modem interpretation and adaptation before being integrated into the discourse system of contemporary Chinese translatology. Modem adaptation can only be carried out step by step on the basis of modem interpretation and through the actual application of traditional translation theory.
