This paper makes a systematical analysis of the present conditions of ground fissures in Datong City, discusses the planar distribution, profile morphology and kinematical characteristics and distributional regularity of these ground fissures, elaborates the building deformation and damage caused by the ground fissures and the formation causes of the ground fissures, and puts forward the control measures for the ground fissures.
