As American ethnic writers, African - american Toni Morrison and Chinese - american Enmei Tan are on the fringes of the American mainstream of literature. In their works, they portrayed abnormal maternal love of American ethnics. Abnormality is the common character of this kind of maternal love. This paper, through analysis of the abnormal maternal love theme in their works, presents the two writers are most seriously invaded in psychology by American cultural noe- colonialism and white supremacist.
