The Relation between TaoYuanming and Taoism

由于家传天师道之渊源和时代社会风气之熏染,陶渊明了解并接受了道教之思想,但其自身的禀赋、学养,又使他不囿于道教的理论,而是取其精华,弃其糟粕,并对道教教义有所超越,形成自己独特的个性和创作风格。

TaoYuanming understood and accepted the thought of Taoism, because of the origin of his family and the influence of custom and society in his times. However, he was not constrained by the theories of Taoism, by his gift and learning, he took the essence, threw away the bad facets of Taoism. He overtook the doctrine of Taoism, and developed his own special character and artistic style.
