“十五”期间,三北防护林四期工程以防沙治沙为主攻方向,以保护现有森林资源,恢复和增加林草植被为核心。工程建设注重质量与效益,正确把握方向,创新体制,从而取得了良好的阶段性成果。在完成投资41.47亿元的同时,创造生态效益28.40亿元,经济效益80.60亿元,取得了良好的阶段性成效,工程为构建和谐社会和促进社会主义新农村建设奠定了基础。

During the period of the tenth five-year plan, the fourth phase of the Three Norths Project makes sand prevention and control its task, protection of the forest resources and restoring and increasing vegetation its core. Meanwhile, it aims at raising the quality and efficiency of the project and developing scientifically as well. It is driven by bringing forth new ideas in system and science, and it also gives full play of the investment and guarantees a good development of forestry with the help of law and science. Over these five years, the Three Norths Project has finished 4147 million yuan of investment, created 2840 million yuan of ecological benefits, and 8060 million yuan of economic benefits. And it also lays a solid foundation for building a harmonious society and promoting the construction of a socialist new countryside.
