The comprehension of English tenses, their expression in particular, is a crucial factor to the elevation of oral expression ability. To those learners whose mother tongue does not rely on the inflexion of its predicate verbs to show the change of its tenses, it is a decisive indicator during their rational learning process whether or not they can understand the deep syntactic implications of each tense and thus correctly express it in practice. With the help of common prosodic patterns of meter, we can, on a full understanding basis, deduce a dynamic rhythm pattern for the expression of tenses, which will expose an implicit relationship between the expression of tenses and the expression of prosodic rhythm.
