Between "Useful" and "Useless": Review Westernization Group's Opinions on Science Based on "Pieer Duhem-Quine Proposition"

按照“杜恒-奎因命题”的理论阐释,科学作为认识现实的整体,自身存在着一定的结构,它包含边缘层、内层和中心层。以此理论维度来分析,清朝末年洋务派的科学观就缺乏这样的整体结构,并带有强烈的急功近利思想。同时,由于当时缺乏科学研究的社会环境和机制,使西方科学技术在中国传播的过程中失去了自身的完整性,并最终导致中国近代科学技术的落后。

According to “Pieer Duhem-Quine proposition”, science, as the outcome to understand the world, contains borderline subject,inside subject and inner subject. According to this theory, The Westernization Group＇s opinion on Science is lack of the whole scientific structure. Meanwhile owing to lack of environment of scientific research at that time, the western science and technology lost the magic power that they should have in transmission procedure, which led to the China＇s science and technology were underdeveloloped in latter-day.
