Different from traditional translation studies, postcolonial translation studies attach importance to the unequal position of different languages, and hold that translation process is not an individual activity, which is greatly influenced by many factors such as politics and culture etc. In the perspective of post-colonialism, the author tends to explore the relation between translation and empire, and to figure out the role translation has played in political power struggles.
