刍议小农经济与“李约瑟之谜”

Small-scale Farming Economy and Needham Thesis

对于李约瑟提出的"为什么工业革命不在中国而是在欧洲产生"这一疑问,众多学者试图从中国当时政治、人口、文化、宗教等不同角度来破解,具有一定的合理性。明清时期的经济基础—自给自足的小农经济结构使社会分工更加模糊,导致产业结构不合理,并缺乏对科技需求的动力,是导致我国资本主义萌芽发展缓慢的最主要的原因,并可以从分工细化、发展农村产业集聚、增加农业技术有效需求等方面为我国当今的小农经济改造提供借鉴。

About the problem which Dr Needham Put forward that ＂why the Industrial Revolution happened in Europe not in China＂, many scholars answer the problem from different point of view such as politics, culture,religiousm etc, the opinions have certain rationality. The article tries to analyses it from the economic foundation of Ming and Qing dynasties which based on self-sufficing small-scale firming economy, brings about that the economic basis caused the bud of capitalism of China developing slowly, and gives advise for Chinese reclaiming small-scale farming economy.
