沈从文的文学理想较多注重观念形态上的艺术自律,它对个体自由的追求在文字德性、生命重造上的展开便是文学经典的塑造以及经典塑造背后的文化进步使命,其内容则表现为抽象的抒情和从抽象的抒情出发的自为色彩浓厚的文学实践。由于这样的文学自律原则无法与新文学的载道传统分离,沈从文的文学理想相应地表现出多重的矛盾性,包括他对现行文学政策的理解,对情感诉求方式的独立性的肯定也决定了他的文学理想的不合时宜之处。所有这一切都可看作沈从文文学理想的寂寞。

The literature idea of Shen Cong-wen pays more attention to the concept of artistic autonomy,whichin pursuit of theindividual freedomdevelopedtheliterature virtue andlife re-creationasthe creation of lit-erary canon along with the cultural mission behind it.The content then presents itself to abstract lyricismandthe literary practice that proceeds fromthe abstract lyricism.This principle of literary autonomy is a departurefromthe function of newliterature that conveys the Dao.Therefore,the literature idea of Shen Cong-wen ac-cordingly shows the multiple contradictions,including his understanding of actual literary policy and his affirma-tion of the independent emotional revelation.Thus hisliteratureideais determinedtoinappropriate tothe occa-sion.And all of this could be regarded as the loneliness of Shen Congwen’s literature idea.
