The Meaning of Wordless Expressions: Wordless,a Novel by Zhang Jie

张洁的长篇小说《无字》,从心灵史的角度反思了中国近百年来被动现代化处境里人们的命运,透视了处在这一情境中的真实人生和人性。以此为立足点,从四个层面透析了"无字"抒写的意义所在:一是直抵灵魂的人性拷问;二是女性爱情神话的建构和颠覆;三是以世俗解构革命的神圣;四是意义缺失之后的追求。

The novel Wordless by Zhang Jie, from the perspective of mental history, rethinks the destiny of people in the past hundred years in the passive modernization backdrop and discloses the true lives and humanity in this context. In so doing, the authoress presents us four levels of significance of wordless expressions, namely, humanity examination reaching to the depth of the soul, the construction and collapse of female myth of love, the sacredness of the secular deconstruction of revolution and the absence of meaning.
