The Two Directions of Local Knowledge and Knowledge Progress

地方性知识(local knawledge)是与普遍性知识(universal knowledge)相对应的学术概念,它不是狭义地指某个地城或某种具有地方特征的知识,而是一种新型的知识观念和价值取向。在人类社会迈向知识经济时代的进程中,人们领悟到,从地方性知识向普遍性知识的进化是知识的进步,同样,从(貌似)普遍性的知识向更高层次地方性知识的进化也是知识的进步,这两种进步具有同等重要的意义。

Local knowledge is a concept relative to universal knowledge. It is a concept of knowledge and knowledge orientation, not the knowledge of a particular locality or knowledge of local characteristics. In the process of man＇s march to the knowledge economy, it is realized that the evolution of local knowledge into universal knowledge and the evolution of seem- ingly universal knowledge into higher-level local knowledge are both progress of knowledge and are of equal importance.
