SDH self- healing ring is widely used in SDH network. The artical deals with the principle of some self - healing ring,then their characteristic and application are discused. An important part is the capability of the self- healing ring, and we can conclude that the channel utilizing rate of MSP is much more higher than PSP. This paper discusses how to use every kind of self- healing ring in accordance with the arrangement of the net and the distribution of the operation.
