English is a language of apparent sexism. Some words and expressions in English have apparent characteristics of sexism. And sexism in English can be shown in the following aspects: some traditional words expressing the meaning of work take " - man" as suffix; the same word may have commendatory meaning when used to stand for the male and pejorative meaning when used to signify the female; "man" is used to stand for both the male and the female; male word is often the foundation of female word in word formation.
