摘要
16~18世纪是欧洲琥珀加工业发展的黄金时期。在该时期,工艺师们利用圆雕、浮雕、凹雕和镶嵌工艺制作琥珀工艺品,尤其是通过镶嵌工艺将大量小面积的琥珀材料拼合,创作出体型颇大、外观华美、工艺精湛的作品。这些作品的工艺和造型特色可为当今中国的玉雕创作和制作提供有益的启示。
The 16th to 18th century is the golden age of development for amber craft in Europe. Amber masters created a series of beautiful and grand artworks by using kinds of craft techniques such as round, relief, intaglio and incrustation at that time. Especially, many small amber slices were pieced together for producing large, colourful and elaborate artworks by incrustation craft. The craft and characteristics of masterpieces could give us useful enlightenment for jade carving in China.
