摘要
Web GIS是传统GIS发展的必然,目前有很多实现方法同样存在许多困难。本文讨论了当前Web GIS的发展态势以及面临的主要技术问题,详细分析了一种基于XML的矢量图形描述语言(SVG)的概念、它应用于Web GIS上的优点以及用于构建实时的Web GIS的关键技术,并给出了一个应用实例。
Web GIS is the development trend of the traditional GIS. Now there are many implementations as well as many difficulties. The paper discusses the conditions and the main technical difficulties of the current Web GIS development. It analyses in detail the concept of a XML based scalable vector graphics language （SVG）, and its advantages when used in Web GIS, and the key points to construct real time Web GIS. An instance of an application is given.
