In America, Policewomen make up approximately 13 % of all employees of police agencies. They are effective communicators ,good at solving problems, and less likely to use excessive force. Policewomen can improve police response to female victims, make valuable contribution to community policing. Although there is a growing acceptance by the public for the policewomen in their law enforcement role, they are underused and undervalued. There are still serious obstacles to overcome if policewomen are to move beyond their marginal status in policing.
