Body Phenomenology's Criticism on Cognitive Science

透过身体现象学这个视角,可以发现认知科学中的计算主义、符号主义、表征主义、认知主义等等思想有一个共同的实质,即在考虑认知活动或智能活动时,以表征为核心,而忽视身体在其中的关键作用。所以这些思想可被统称为无身认知。另外,在无身认知背后有三个未经检验的哲学假设,而它们都是站不住脚的。因此,无身认知应该被具身认知取代。

According to body phenomenology,we can find that computationalism,symbolism,representationalism and cognitivism in the cognitive science have the same character that they take representation as the essence of the cognitive activities or intellectual activities and don't think that the body plays any role in these activities.Therefore,all of those ideas can be generalized as disembodied cognition.There are three philosophical assumptions that disembodied cognition depends on,and they are wrong.So embodied cognition must displace disembodied cognition.
