学习十七大精神,贵在领会其精神实质,重在与实际工作相联系,把其精神落到实处。具体到北京联合大学的实际,就是要用马克思主义中国化的最新成果武装广大师生的头脑;要用科学发展观指导学校工作,把学校"十一五规划"落到实处,实现学校又好又快的发展;要以改革创新的精神,大力加强教职员工的能力建设,提高工作水平。

It is of vital importance to have a good master of the spirit of the 17^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China （CPC）, and it is of crucial importance to put the spirit into practice. When it comes to the practical work of Beijing Union University （BUU）, it is necessary to arm the minds of the teachers and students with the newest achievements made on Marxism with Chinese characteristics; it is necessary to guide the practice of the university with the Scientific Outlook on Development so as to implement the 11th Five-Year Plan of BUU and to further promote the development of the university; and it is necessary to foster the construction of the competence of the faculty with the spirit of reform and innovation so as to upgrade the working standards of the university.
