Rationale behind the Division of Token and Value in English Identifying Clauses and Beyond

标记和价值是关系过程的两个重要概念,容易混淆,但是迄今为止,国内外学者在阐述这两个概念时,却仍然有不清楚之处,因此文章在分析了英语识别小句中标记和价值划分的理据之后,总结了判定标记和价值的方法,指出识别小句不仅仅限于肯定小句,识别小句可以和归一性—情态结合,并且标记和价值的判定不受情态影响。

Token and value are two important yet confusing concepts in the relational process. However, they are far from being clarified so far by scholars home and abroad when they are expounding the two concepts. This paper first discusses the rationale behind the division of token and value in clauses, then summarizes the ways to determine which entity is token and which is value, out that identifying clauses are not confined to positive ones-they can be combined with but polarity-modality plays no role in identifying token and value. English identifying and finally points polarity-modality,but polarity-modality plays no role in identifying token and value.
