This thesis tries to analyze Lord of the Flies written by William Golding from the perspective of characters＇ ethics. The author holds that Lord of the Flies is a piece of work filled with moral degradation and cruel persecution among human beings. Simon, the only carnation of good morality, symbolizes Golding＇ s longings for a society of human harmony and sincerity. Golding wishes to establish a political system in order and he thinks that one＇ s ethical situation can be improved by his education and his surroundings and by the mutual understanding and respect and harmonious condition among people.
