Based on the Enumeration in this area and the researching data from the field transect inventory ,this paper studies the Life form spectrum in the plant of the southern slope of Mt. Laotudingzi which in Liaoning province and the different characteristics due to the altitude gradient, using the Raunkiaer's plant life form system. We have got two results: (1)The Life form spectrum in the plant of the southern slope of Mr. Laotudingzi is composed largely of Hemicryptophytes which is 40.8% of all. Phanerophytes and Therophytes take the second place holding 21.8% and 21.5% respectively. Cryptophytes is 14.5%, and Chamaephytes is the least of all holding 1.4%. All of the above show that the characteristics of climate there are rainy and warm in summer, and frigid and long in winter. (2)The characteristics of Life form spectrum in the plant of the southern slope of Mt. Laotudingzi are as followings: The proportion of medium-sized Phanerophytes in the commun and the proportion of Hemicryptophytes obviously decreases with the altitude h 1 180 m. However, the proportion of medium-sized Phanerophytes in the decreases and the proportion of minitype-sized Phanerophytes in the commun with the altitude higher from 1 180 m to the peak . The Phanerophytes almost ty obviously increases gher from piedmont to community obviously ty obviously increases disappear on the peak and the proportion of Hemicryptophytes increases from 9.1% to 76.3 % obviously.
