目的论自问世以来,在西方译界早就遭到质疑,但是凭着目的决定手段的观点在中国译界得到广泛应用。诺德在《目的性行为——析功能翻译理论》中回应了目的论招致的多项批评,并且根据目的论提出了一套文学翻译理论。通过对历史上文学翻译观考察,以及目的论被应用于文学翻译中的分析,可以发现许多研究者并未认清Skopostheorie的真面目,运用此理论盲目分析文学翻译。

Skopostheofie, though doubted by translation scholars earlier in the West, has been adopted widely in the Chinese translation field by its top principle of ＂ the end justifies means＂ since its appearance. Christiane Nord responds to the ten criticisms against Skopos theorie, and puts forward a translation theory in literature in her book Translation as Apurposeful Activity Functionalist Approaches Explained. Yet, it is discovered that many a researcher blindly applies this theory to literary translation.
