Humanism has always existed in Wang Xijie＇s culture-permeated rhetoric research and his standpoints. His research reveals the relation between language and culture, and between language and national ethos. His hu- manism is built upon the philosophical foundation of irrationalism and finds itself in reshaping the traditional principle of ＂sincerity in rhetoric＂ and in his own principle of ＂appropriateness＂.
