Pu Songling＇s views towards women in Strange Tales from Make-Do Studio are not as positive and progressive as people usually think, but intemaingled, intricate and crisscross. Compared with his contemporaries, Pu Songling showed much sympathy to women, but meanwhile he failed to get rid of the influence of the traditional view of ＂women being the source of trouble＂. Pu＇s points of view can be considered as a significant progress on the long evolving way of sex concepts.
