陈嘉庚先生为集美学校订立的"诚毅"校训,是培养创新人格的基础。"诚"是对做人的基本要求,教育学生做人以诚,诚实守信,有利于养成学生诚信的学术道德;"毅"是对做事的基本要求,教育学生克服困难,毅力而行,对培养学生勤奋精神,立志科学创新具有重要作用。继承陈嘉庚先生"知行合一"的教育理念,加强学生实践能力的培养,对于培养具有创新精神和实践能力的应用型人才亦具有指导意义。

＂Sincerity and Fortitude＂, the motto of Chi Mei School formulated by Tan Kah - Kee, is the basis for development of innovative personality. ＂Sincerity＂ is an essential requirement for conducting oneself; educating students to be honest and to keep their word is favourable to the cultivation of their academic ethics of good faith.
