My Opinion on "Qingkong" and "Zhishi"

自张炎在《词源》中提出"清空"与"质实"之说,"清空"与"质实"分别被看成是姜夔与吴文英词的主导风格。从意象、结构方式和炼字造句的不同等方面,可以发现"清空"与"质实"风格有不同的表现,而人品与个性、创作主张、师法渊源等方面的不同,是这两种不同词风形成的原因。

Since Zhang Yan put forward the concepts of ＂Qingkong＂ and ＂Zhishi＂ in The Origin of Ci, ＂Qingkong＂ and ＂Zhishi＂ have been viewed as the dominant styles for Jiang Kui and Wu Wen-ying. From different aspects such as symbolization, structure, wording, we could find that the two Ci styles are very different. And personalities, writing purposes, and schools are the main reasons that have resulted in such a difference in style.
