摘要
2007年7月6日至7日，中国司法部与最高人民法院在北京联合召开全国人民调解工作会议。会议总结了近年来人民调解工作，表彰在人民调解工作中作出突出贡献的先进集体和个人，安排当前和今後一个时期的人民调解工作，旨在进一步推进入民调解工作的发展，为构建社会主义和谐社会作出新贡献。
On July 6-7, 2007, the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme People＇s Court jointly held inBeijing a national conference on the work of People＇s Mediation - the Chinese version of civilian mediation - to sum up the work of People＇s Mediation over recent years, honor model institutions and individuals that had made out- standing contributions to the work of People＇s Mediation, and make arrangements for operation of the work of People＇s Mediation over a future period of time. The holding of the conference was intended to further promote development of the work of People＇s Media- tion and make a new contribution to the development of a harmonious socialist society in China.
