清代學者疑年考——姜亮夫《歷代人物年里碑傳綜表》訂訛

A Study on the Disputable Dates of Ch’ing Scholars:Correcting Errors in Chiang Liangfu’s Integrated Table of the Dates, Hometowns, Tablets, and Biographies of Historical Figures in the Previous Dynasties

清代学者钱大昕曾纂次古今文人生卒年寿之可考者，为《疑年绿》四卷。其后赓续之作纷出，姜亮夫先生尝撰《六续疑年录》，后经扩充，增补修订，易名曰《历代人物年里碑传综表》。其书后出，蒐罗最富，查检甚便，为学者治史必不可少之书。惟历代人物，来如繁星，其偶有违失，固不害为名山盛业；订讹补阙，正后学者之责也。本文专就其书清人生卒年岁有疑误者，辨正是非，凡举正五十五事。

The Ch’ing Scholar Ch’ien Ta-hsin once compiled the available dates of historical figures as Register of Disputable Dates, 4 volumes. Thereafter many works appeared which continued his effort. Chiang Liang-fu wrote Six Supplements to Disputed Dates, and after expansion and reediting, it was renamed as Integrated Table of the Dates, Hometowns, Tablets, and Biographies of Historical Figures in the Previous Dynasties. As the latest book of this kind, it is all-embracing in contents, and is easy to look up. It thus becomes a indispensable tool for the Chinese historians. Considering the immense number of historical figures in this collection, some errors can not shake its monumental status. It is the job of us latecomers to correct them. This paper corrects fifty-five errors on the dates of Ch’ing scholars included in Chiang’s book.
