摘要
教材在课程目标达成中具有重要的作用,对教材进行评价是考察教材在课程及课堂教学过程中作用的重要方式之一。采用Flesh易读度公式及易读度阅读量表对大学《实用英语教程》新旧版课文及其相关材料抽样进行比较分析,数据显示新编教材课文的难度较低,不符合学生认知结构形成规律。研究建议在教学内容相当浅显的情况下,教师在教学实战中应着力于改进教学方式,补充教学内容,增加学生的听说技能训练。
Textbooks play an important role in achieving the objective of a course. The evaluation of the textbooks is one of the important methods of checking the role of the textbooks in the course and its teaching process. In this research, Flesh Readability Formula and Reference table of Readability are used to analyze two versions of Practical English Textbook as well as some relevant materials. The results show that the reading materials in the new version of Practical English Textbook (which is widely used in Chinese colleges), are of low grades of readability according to the Reference table of Readability, disagreeing with the law of the cognitive development of students. Suggestions are given at the end, advising teachers to improve their teaching methods, supplement teaching materials and increase English listening and speaking practice for their students.
