Animal biochemistry is the basic course of animal science and animal medicine. This paper has made an insightful analysis of the major problems as well as their causes encountered during the teaching process. Meanwhile it discusses the overall improvement of teaching quality in the light of such aspects as teaching practice, the promoting of teachers＇ quality, the enhancement of class preparation, and the blend of teaching and research with the purpose of preparing the students for success in studying animal biochemistry so as to lay a solid foundation for the follow-up courses.
